These are some signs every mother of teenagers (daughters in particular) needs to have hanging around--to save her breath, keep her sanity, and maintain her sense of humor through it all... They really need no further explanation! I was still reeling from having survived (somewhat battered and bruised) my daughter's tempestuous teenage years...and that was many years ago!...when I had a fit of nostalgia for those days when things such as manners and decorum were the norm, and came up with these signs. I had great fun embellishing them with individual "ladies" and tole doodads. I thought they might be something really refreshing to have hanging on one's wall to just point to at Appropriate Moments. (Brother! have we all been there!!!)

They all read:

Chastity is a Virtue Shabby Chic sign - measures 5.5

Chastity is a Virtue. Now there's an old-fashioned idea if there ever was one! Sign measures 5.5" x 10"; almost 13" with brass chain hanger. Sides are painted in mauve to match the girl's dress. Backside also painted mauve and has my label attached. A one-of-a-kind. *Note: This should probably be classified as "Shabby Chic" as the wood piece has various flaws and defects in the surface. (Somehow I thought that was kind of fitting for the "dated" subject matter.) I decided to further enhance this by sanding down the edges to give it even more of an antique look.
